Artist's Description
I had hired a local tribal guide to take me off-road through the back country of the Navajo (Dineh) reservation (straddling the borders of Utah and Arizona) near Monument Valley. In addition to enjoying anasazi petroglyphs I felt privileged to be able to take such a great shot of the iconic East Mitten Butte. Monument Valley was made famous as a backdrop for a lot of iconic John Wayne movies.
