You have to travel to remote areas to find the truly dark skies free of light pollution to capture star filled skies like these. Our earth is part of a spiral galaxy, seen here is the galactic center of our Milky Way galaxy rising above the Davis Mountains in Texas. The bright white star to the right of the column of stars is the light from the planet Jupiter.
