The Wright brothers made their historic first flight on December 17, 1903. Here we are a bit over a century later, and it is sometimes hard to fathom how far the field of aviation has come since then. But in order for us to soar the skies of the deep blue yonder, we rely on the structure of the plane from the frame to the wires, lines, nuts, bolts, rivets and skin.
